Puri Ageng Blahbatuh (Blahbatuh Palace) is famous for their beautiful feature including ancient temple artwork, a peaceful mediation temple surrounded by water and exotic wooden furniture.In Puri Ageng Blahbatuh, you will experience the Balinese traditional local daily activities such as gamelan lesson, Balinese dance, Balinese cooking, Lontar leaf painting.

Balinese Gamelan is a traditional percussion orchestra which assembles various rhythm instruments made of bamboo, wood and bronze. Sometimes the music arrangement feature symphonic poems that convey message quoted from religious teaching. Balinese Gamelan are usually displayed as accompaniment of an art performance in Bali, both sacred and entertainment. In this workshop the group will learn about history of gamelan the use of Gamelan in the village context, and a demonstration by the gamelan maestro.

  • Today in Indonesia, Dato Sri and Dato refer to honorific titles of traditional community, especially among Malay and Minagkabau people. It is functioned as a title reserved for community leader that deals with traditions and community affairs.

    Dato Sri is the highest state title conferred by the Ruler on the most deserving recipients who have contributed greatly to the nation or state. It ranks below the federal title Tun and is an honour equivalent to federal title Tan Sri. The wife of a recipient is Datin Sri. Women holders of Dato Sri would be called Datin Paduka Seri. Dato is a traditional, honorary title bestowed on a person who has contributed a significant amount to the society. Dato may only be conferred by a hereditary royal ruler of the state. The wife of a hereditary Dato is addressed by courtesy as Datin. Female Dato are called Datin Paduka as she is bestowed the title on her own right.
