Puri Ageng Blahbatuh was originally known as the Orchid Palace.
In the past, the King of Blahbatuh utilised the palace for orchids keeping. There were several orchids kept and the King used these collections for competitions, thus winning second place in a competition held in Singapore, in the 1970’s. Puri Ageng Blahbatuh was originally built around 1570-1600 according to the Cakra calendar and was founded by the Dynasty of King I Gusti Ngurah Jelantik VIII. The sprawling complex measures about four hectares.

Balinese Gamelan is a traditional percussion orchestra which assembles various rhythm instruments made of bamboo, wood and bronze. Sometimes the music arrangement feature symphonic poems that convey message quoted from religious teaching. Balinese Gamelan are usually displayed as accompaniment of an art performance in Bali, both sacred and entertainment. In this workshop the group will learn about history of gamelan the use of Gamelan in the village context, and a demonstration by the gamelan maestro.
